Gods of Asnorit Pt. 4: Elder Gods

Inspired by the elder gods of the Cthulhu Mythos, We have the Elder Gods of the Something Wicked Universe known as the Nak-Thraankuul. I will probably edit this post later with a few more gods as well.

The Nak-Thraankuul- The Dark Primordial elder gods. These nightmarish creatures from another realm found their way into the earthly plane. They gained the worship and terror of the early civilizations of Asnorit. They attempted to conquer the world and the earthly realm but the combined might of Stratokus, Pherata, and Terophite fought back these monsters and banished them to the pit from whence they came. However, the Nak-Thraankuul still had some followers who continued to worship them through out the ages, gaining many a spell from these creatures, and summoning bizarre and horrific aberrations native to their realm. A majority of Nak-Thraankuul are generally portrayed as tentacled, crab-clawed monstrosities that if a mortal gains a glimpse of their horrible likeness, he will be driven completely insane.
Gothuulgah- The greatest of the Nak-Thraankuul and believed to be the great lord of Graan-Mal-Gal, the realm of the elder gods. He is often the most worshipped among them. It is believed that Gothuulgah possesses the power to create small extra planar rifts that allow creatures from his realm to the earthly plane. He is generally portrayed in a similar fashion to his children, the Illithids or Mind Flayers, possessing an octopoid-like head with black eyes. The rest of his physique is a bit varied, sometimes portrayed as thin with long fingers, sometimes fat and sluggish, sometimes with bat-like wings, and sometimes with hoofed-feet.
Scyllnapog- One of the Nak-Thraankuul and King of the Dark Depths. Scyllnapog is sometimes fabled as being the progenitor of a majority of sea life and demanded sacrifices of his servants or else he would bring forth terrible destruction from the ocean. In most mythology, he was expunged from the oceans by Pherata and sent to Graan-Mal-Gal with the other Nak-Thraankuul. Some legends however contradict this saying that after a battle with Pherata, he fell into a deep slumber and was sealed in the deepest pit of the oceans, awaiting the day when he will awakening once more. His appearance when depicted tends to vary a little. Sometimes he is portrayed like a large merman while other times like an amalgam of various sea creatures like octopus tentacles, fish fins, several eyes, or multiple hands with chitinous plating.

Gods of Asnorit Pt. 3: Celestial Entities and Minor Gods

Here are a few entities found on other planes of the world apart from Gods and Demons. This post also goes into A couple minor gods or progenitors of a couple races/species. Please Enjoy.

Angels- A lesser race of entities that reside in the planes of Elasvaine and Solmain. These beings possess a humanoid physique with large avian wings on their backs. In Elasvaine, they are emissaries and loyal servants of the gods, obeying the decrees of the gods and following them. Those who reside in Solmain act as guides and guardians of the plane and the souls within. Angels do possess abilities like magic that harness their own form of mana some of which take on different forms depending on which god they are a servant of. Apart from abilities blessed to them by their gods, Angels have a basic ability to manipulate their energy in different ways. Those of the most powerful angels are referred to as Archangels and Seraphim, possessing a much greater power and ability and identified by one or two extra pairs of wings. Angels are often used as messengers of the gods to the mortal realm, sometimes bringing news of terrible happenings or prophecies of wondrous events.
Cherubs- These angels are devoted servants of Kounia and do her bidding spreading love through out the world. They are said to spark flames of passion and affection in the hearts of people, be the relationships short lived or life long. They not only follow the orders of Kounia but also the orders of Apheros, Kounia’s son and the first cherub. Each cherub possesses a magical set of bow and arrows that when striking a person incite feelings of affection, love, and lust, some these being stronger than others. While most will loyally go about their tasks, some cherubs have been known to be mischievous and sometimes even cruel in their duty. These kinds of cherubs have been said to be the root of odd couplings and tragic romances through out Asnorit’s history and legends.
Nephilim- A celestial warrior race found in Sarangrad. They are partial cousins of Angels but are large people with amazing strength, powers, and abilities. On Sarangrad, they serve as warriors for souls seeking an impressive challenge but also serve as attendants to the souls there when they need a meal or company. When angels cannot be used as warriors of the Gods, the Nephilim are used instead. If they are sent on a mission, they are an unstoppable force that nearly can’t be killed. Nephilim generally possess a human physical appearance with glowing eyes and various skin tones that are affected by the powers they possess.
Titans- A primordial, enormous humanoid race, the Titans were in fact the first race of the earthly plane. The direct children of Terophite and close to godhood, the titans were monolithic beings standing at about 50 -100 feet tall and possessing a strong connection to the elements. However, when other races began to appear like humans, elves, dwarves, etc., the Titans became jealous of their small neighbors whom the world seemed better suited for. They began acting violently towards the smaller races which began a war between them. Led by Dravius, the smaller races did their best against the titans having some victories and slaying titans but they were outmatched. Finally, the war was halted by the titan Gargantin and the gods intervened as well. The titans not slain were either placed in servitude of Hathro or banished to another realm.
Thuravel- The Mother of All Dragons and Patron Goddess of the Great Dragons. She was said to been born in early days of the world between it’s forging and the rise of the mortal races. Thuravel is speculated to have been one of the great Thunder Lizards who roamed the land, reaching a higher level of intelligence than most Behemoths. She mated with many of the behemoths and gave birth to the Dragon Species. Her power and might led her to become a bestial goddess who has become worshipped by the Great Dragons and few other races of the world.
Lykthone- The First Werewolf. Originally a mortal man who fell in love with the Goddess Meloa. They shared a wonderful relationship but Lykthone was displeased that they couldn’t be together as much as he wish since Meloa could only be with him at night and when the Moon’s light shined down on a reflection. In a strange and desperate labor of love or perhaps obsession,  he fashioned a magic mirror that trapped Meloa on the earthly realm, causing the world to freeze in a state of everlasting night. While Meloa pleaded for Lykthone to break the spell, he was too blinded by his obsession with her. Luckily, Meloa’s siblings and Judasta rescued Meloa and destroyed the mirror. As Punishment, Judasta cursed Lykthone to transform into his truest self, a savage, hungry, and selfish wolf when the moon rose. Lykthone thus became the first werewolf and went on to spread his curse to others. Werewolves occasionally worship Lykthone, especially those of the Rabiaft Fang.
Noctira- The First Vampire. Originally, a woman known for her extraordinary beauty and fickle tastes in men. It was said that she and her hair shined in the light of the sun. Her beauty even captured the attention of the sun god Scoran. The two entered into a romantic relationship for a period. Scoran loved her and did many things for her even granting her immortality. Noctira seemed to feel the same that was until Scoran found her in bed with another. Enraged by her unfaithful behavior, Scoran cursed her so that she would never be able to bask in the light of the sun and a hunger for the blood of those who could. So, Noctira became the first vampire and spread her curse to others.

Gods of Asnorit Pt. 2: Demon Gods

The next part of the collection of Gods and other entities. This time we focus on the Demon Gods. Though revered as gods by the mortal races of Asnorit, many of these entities are Demonic Monarchs who have powers almost on the same level as deities.

Nakurta-Demon God of Death. A powerful and vicious lord who rules over the Abyss, the land of demon souls and resting place for abominations cast out, and in  his past time tortures wicked souls from the land of the living. He offers his powers to necromancers seeking a different way of resurrection rather than through the fickle Caehadi. The souls he generally offers when summoned have become mindless, aimless, and are only good for brute power and servitude when brought forth. Gorathone and Nakurta will sometimes forge alliances to give necromancers their powers. He is portrayed as a large, horned, dark blue-purple skinned demon with pointed ears, huge yellow fangs, and hooves, dressed in a black robe and loincloth.
Balankor-Creator Demon God. Viewed as the Creator god of the Demon Realm and created all the horrors that reside there not to mention the creatures of most people’s nightmares. It is said that he entered the demon realm and shaped it on his own, spawning many of the lesser demons that reside it the land. It is said that if he wanted to, Balankor could reshape the land however he wished with a thought and a few gestures. He has ruled over the realm with an iron fist and maintained order in his realm by dividing his power and land to chosen demons and formers gods, granting them the title of Demon God with the power to back such a title. He has maintained a truce with the three creator gods of Elasvaine for eons, making many of the laws within the realms, such as the hefty price required to allow any god whether demon or other wise to enter the earthly plane. He is generally portrayed as a large, black horned demon with orange-red eyes dressed in either ancient clothing or modern clothing.
Alphaenon- Demon God of Wrath and Treachery, God of the Fallen and Former All-king of the Angels. Once a god king of Angels, Alphaenon disagreed with the Creator Gods’ choice to bless the mortal races of the Earth Plane. He deemed them unfit for the Gods gifts and sought to destroy them by taking his most devoted followers to commit genocide of the mortals. He was however stopped by the Creator Gods. For his punishment, Stratokus, Pherata, and Terophite, cast him and his closest followers out of Elasvaine and banished them to the Demon Realm. When arriving in the realm, the demonic energies residing there along with his feelings of hatred transformed him into a misshapen and twisted version of his former self. Shortly after arriving, he became a demon god of the realm. It is said that even from the demon realm, he influences mortals to be traitorous to show how weak and pathetic the mortal races are.  Originally he was portrayed with a similar visage to an angel as a handsome man with silvery hair and three sets of golden wings, dressed in a silver tunic with gold braces, and a simple gold ring for a crown on his head. As the Demon God, He is portrayed with pure white hair and dressed in a maroon robe, a demonic gauntlet on his left hand, and black pants. The rest of his appearance reflects his two-faced and furious nature, the right half akin to his former self a humanoid appearance with tarnished gold wings while the left half possesses more demonic qualities like a clawed foot, black veins, a large grotesque horn growing from his left temple, and three wings that are a hideous mixture of avian and bat-like qualities.
Veroxa- Demon Goddess of Sex, Lust, and Temptation, and Queen of the Succubi. During the primordial days of the demonic realm, Vexora like other demon gods under Balankor, spawned their own races. Vexora spawned the first succubi and incubi, who in turn worship her as their goddess and ruler. It is said she gives strength to temptations in the earthly realm and weakens mortal’s will against it. She is a prominent goddess of Sex but in a more callous manner than her counterpart in the Asnorit Patheon, Kounia. Following her role as a goddess of temptation as well, she convinces her subjects that as long as you achieve your sexual passions, you should care little for the consequences whether it means abandoning your lover for someone else or going to more drastic and less conventional methods of achieving satisfaction. Her worshippers, mortal or demon, tempt new converts to her allowing them freedom and believe with each act of satisfying sex or realized temptation, she gains strength and grants them her blessings. She is generally portrayed similarly to her daughters as a voluptuous woman but with purplish-red skin, four bat-like wings, two curly horns on her brow, and monstrous dragon-like feet.
Mordas- Demon God of Violence and War and one of the youngest demon gods. In ancient times of the demon realm, Mordas was a gladiator in the kingdom of Ragnoska. He was known for being ruthless and powerful, nearly unstoppable as he would take on and destroy any creature brought to the arena whether it be the vicious Karnivas Birds of the Demon Fang Mountains or the enormous Gromak beetles of the Kalmonos Desert. However, Mordas was growing tired of his place as a gladiator and held spite towards the king of Ragnoska, Quistal. Leaving the arena, He gathered a group of like minded warriors and created a rebellion that assaulted Quistal and his forces. They brutally decimated the army of Ragnoska and Mordas took great pleasure in gratuitously mutilating Quistal himself, leaving only his disfigured head on display as a symbol of his regime. He began sending forth his army to conquer the neighboring demon kingdoms. When his reputation became quite established, Mordas was approached by Balankor who made him the demon god of War. With the remaining members of Quistal’s harem, Mordas gave birth to three demon races, The Bearded Fiends, The Pit Fiends, and the Demon Legionnaires. It is said that Mordas inspired many of the most bloody and savage wars on the earthly plane and enticed the most gruesome of atrocities. From time to time, Mordas has formed alliances with Barota due to their lots in the heavens but this partnership is often a bit unstable. Mordas is generally portrayed as a large demon with an amalgam of traits given to his children, being a large muscular red demon with black horns, a reptilian tail, nest of snakes from his chin, pointed spines going from the bottom of his neck to the tip of tail, a large pair of bat-like wings, and dressed in a dark grey suit of armor with demonic red markings.
Hallum- Demon God of Hunger and Gluttony. Hallum is regarded as a driving force of hunger in the Demon Realm, generally portrayed as an enormous rotund demon as large as a mountain with a large mouth at the center of his abdomen and a mouth in the palm of each hand. He resides over Kaganra, a kingdom of lesser demons he conquered with his minions and children. He is continually served by the demons of Kaganra, feeding him vast meals. If one cannot provide him with food, he devours them instead. He is believed to have been the father of the various carnivores of the demon realm, in particular to the great worms found in the desert areas of the demon realm or the Galheki Scavangers.
Rylphon-Demon God of Corruption and Poison. This particular demon lord maintains a unique partnership with Alphaenon, as their abilities almost go hand in hand. Rylphon is known to prey upon the weakness in a soul, finding whatever insecurity lies within a mortal and corrupting them until they are consumed. Most relate him to the common devil persona of a conscience found in lore and fiction. He is believed to have inspired various acts like viziers plotting usurp their kings, lovers to question their partners loyalty, friends turned enemies over petty squabbles, and many others. Rylphon is also revered as a god of poison and harmful toxins, some mythology points to him being responsible for the poisons found on both demonic and earthly planes. Additionally, he has said to have inspired man-made poisons as well. Thanks to this belief, he is revered by assassins, killers, and particularly shady apothecaries. He is also worshipped by some succubus and incubus alike. His domain is that of the city of Kaldok and surrounding areas like the Elracad Forest, a large, lush demonic forest that is home to various poisonous and carnivorous plants. Being a god of corruption and manipulation, Rylphon’s depictions can vary though most tend to have him with serpentine or fish-like qualities like scaly skin, long sharp fangs, and a slithering tail where his legs should be. Within some mythology, Rylphon and Veroxa are said to have made love and created the sirens.
Crotakas- Demon God of Magic. Sometimes viewed as the twisted rival of the Goddess Cerehosis, Crotakas is said to have imparted knowledge to all demons in particular how to harness the power of their realm and perform magic. He has also been said to have given the knowledge of infernal magic to the early sorcerers of the earthly plane. He rules mainly over the city of Sorcas, a demon city best known for sorcery and magic. He is generally portrayed as a hornless pale skinned demon with a dense, strangely shaped skull that protects as his very large brain and wears sorcerer robes. He is said to have crafted several demon races through his twisted magical experiments and converted existing demon races to his cause.
Obelnique-Demon Goddess of Infestation and mother of All Demonic Insects. Obelnique is said to have created the various species of demonic insects and arachnids and was one of the first creatures to walk upon the soil of demon realms, growing in size and power thanks to her children and soldiers. Balankor of course took an interest in her and made her a demon goddess. Some even believe that she created the insects found on the earthly plane. She is almost omnipresent in the realm as she can use her children to spy upon the other demon lords or lesser demon royals. She is known to work with Bilesla to spread disease and plague to the earthly plane. She resides in Qualog, a towering demon city which resembles an enormous, spiky termite tower. Obelnique is generally depicted with a humanoid form with various insect or arachnid characteristics like antennae, multiple eyes, exoskeleton armor in places, spider legs, wasp wings, and a large bee-like abdomen.
Bilesla- Demon Goddess of Disease and Affliction, Bilesla was once a Goddess of Healing known as Lavisra and fell in love with Lumos. He rejected her food offerings, which for some odd reason had a disgusting taste. Yet, this goddess pressed on, vowing to improve her delicacies. Suddenly, various jealous goddesses of Order attacked her for defiling their Lumos. It wasn't until Balankor rescued her, and accepted her into his realm. Balankor then tasted her delicacies and was so delighted by the taste that he appointed her one of the Demon Goddesses. He then granted her a new form, a beautiful, sickly white skinned woman with fly-black hair and massive breasts, but her bottom half was that of a colossal slug-centipede hybrid. She was so jovial at this new form that she would spread her love across the world, crafting a realm that completely parodies Sensira's own. To this day, Lumos speaks the cures for the various diseases he has tasted to his followers. Her symbols are varied, but is usually with a slug surrounded by flies. Her corresponding animals are the fly, the cockroach, and the Slug Dragon.
Ikabris-A Minor Demon God who was imprisoned before his time. The offspring of a brief tryst between Mordas and Veroxa, Ikabris is the odd blend of both of his forebearers. He is said to have possessed an alluring male humanoid body like an incubus but had horns, wings, and a tail like a pit fiend. He rallied a group of worshippers and warriors behind him but with his parents and other demon gods ruling over the demon realm, he set his sights upon the earthly plane. He managed to get to the human realm and have a brief dominion over a small area but his reign quickly came to an end. Imbued with knowledge by Lumos and Cerehosis, a group of clerics, priests, and wizards managed to fight against Ikabris. However, they were unable to destroy him due to his divine lineage. So, taking the wounded Ikabris, the army of spellcasters and holy men sealed the demi-demon god into the body of a viriginal man. Before being sealed away, Ikabris vowed to return no matter how dormant he would be and even if he had to wait several generations down the man’s bloodline he would return.

Gods of Asnorit Pt. 1: Main Pantheon

Here's the first part of a collection of the Pantheons of Asnorit. Here is the central gods of the realm

Stratokus- God of the Sky and one of the three great creator gods. In the Asnorit myth of creation, the three gods, Stratokus, Terophite, and Pherata combined their powers into one to create the world and the beings that inhabit it. Stratokus brought forth the sky and granted flight to many creatures.  A myth tells of a group of early people who worshiped Stratokus so greatly, they prayed to be with their god in the sky. With Terophite’s help, Stratokus took a portion of the land, imbued it with flight, and brought his most faithful worshippers to the sky. He bestowed some of his gifts to his children, Scoran, Meloa, Numino, and Lumos who brought the sun, the moon, the stars, and light in general respectively. He also married Terophite’s daughter Ifaetari and gave birth to the Gods of the Winds and Storms. He is generally portrayed as an old but muscular man with curly hair like clouds and eyes as blue as the sky. He is sometimes portrayed possessing large avian wings on his back. His symbol is a ring of cloud. His corresponding animals are the falcon, the pegasus, and the silver great dragon.
Terophite- God of the land and one of the three great creator gods. In the Asnorit myth of creation, the three gods Terophite, Stratokus, and Pherata combined their powers into one to create the world and the beings that inhabit it. Terophite forged the land and with Pherata’s water gave birth to the first plants. He placed many special metals and gems in the earth for those who show effort and determination to explore. He bestowed some of the his gifts to his childern like Haethanine who was born with his plants, Loiata, who was born with the help of her elder sister and protects the forest and its animals, and Ifaetari, who watches over the people of the desert lands. He is portrayed as a large, muscular man with long pale green hair and beard like vines or grass leaves, with eyes like emeralds. It is said his skin is almost like bedrock. His symbol is a dark brown mountain with a green peak. His corresponding animals are the beetle, the great mole, and the drake.
Pherata- Goddess of the Oceans, other bodies of water, and one of the three great creator gods. In the Asnorit myth of creation, the three gods Pherata, Stratokus, and Terophite combined their powers into one to create the world and the beings that inhabit it. Pherata created the oceans, rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water of the world along with the creatures that inhabit such areas. She gave her water to help Terophite give birth to the first plants. In some myths, Pherata, saddened by the fact that she couldn’t be closer to her worshippers, granted her most devout servants with the ability to survive underwater, thus creating mermaids and other races of the deep. She is generally portrayed as a beautiful woman with hair a deep green-blue, eyes like pearls, shining skin like fish scales, and ears like fish fins. Her symbol is a tidal wave. Her corresponding animals are the angel fish, the sea turtle, and the sea dragon.

In some myths, it is believed that after the three creator gods shaped the world, Cerehosis imbued the planet with magic and granted the races of the world with knowledge of how to use it. In fairy myth, they believe Cerehosis is their creator as fairies are the most magical of races in Asnorit. She is generally portrayed as a woman with dark golden hair and dressed in royal violet mage’s robes. Her symbol is a feathered quill with a scroll. Her corresponding animals are the owl, the gorilla, and the arctic lung dragon.
Sceptua- God of Time. A powerful god as old as the creator gods. With the help of Terophite’s daughter, Ifaetari, he created the Sands of Time to maintain the flow of time and created the hourglasses of life to determine how long someone lives. He has shared this knowledge with Caehadi so she may collect the souls of the living and guide them to their resting places. He also made love to Haethanine, bestowing their four children with control of the seasons. He is generally portrayed as an elderly man with a long beard and dressed in brown and brass colored robes, holding a scepter topped with alternating cogs. It is said that Meloa visits the earth from time to time, using a reflection of the the moon as a portal but when the day starts to begin, she must return to her plane or the order of the universe will be thrown out of whack. She is often portrayed as a young woman with pale skin and ebony hair, dressed in a silky blue gown. Her symbol is generally the moon or a mirror reflecting a crescent moon. Her corresponding animals are the firefly, the mouse, and the amphiptere dragon.
Gorathone- God of Darkness, Evil, and Patron God of Thieves and Necromancy. He is worshipped of course, by thieves, some warlords, dark sorcerers, but is devoutly worshipped by the Dark Elves. In some creation myths, he was born on the first night among the shadows before Lumos or his siblings could shine their light upon the world. Some lore portrays him like some devious, underhanded trader, offering his godly powers to make a mortal’s life better in exchange for hefty prices, such as how in the myth of the first dark elves, he granted them power and longevity for their worship but left to wander the earth in search of life energy from other beings. He is portrayed as either a tall, thin, vampiric-looking man with pale blue-tinted skin or as a large drider, a centaur like beast with the upper body of an elf and the legs and bottom of a spider. His symbol is a curved dagger in the claw of a bird or a spider on a diamond shaped spider web. His corresponding animals are the spider, the rat, and the black raptor dragon. He is also the brother of Caehadi and only with blessings from both gods can one use the most powerful of necromancy.
Haethanine- Goddess of the Harvest, Nature, Patron God of Farmers. She is worshipped by farmers often by halflings and wood elves. Her blessings often mean a good crop and good fortune. She is generally a good natured goddess but her fury has been believed to cause earthquakes or drought. She later made love with Sceptua, the god of time and gave birth to the gods of the seasons. She is portrayed as a naked green skinned woman with long brown, untamed hair and various blossoms dotting her do. It is believed that when she walks the earth, plants and grass spring from the ground where she steps. Her symbol is a large emerald oak tree with wheat stalks growing from the trunk. His corresponding animals are the ant, the chipmunk, and the tiger.
Pharmecidia- Goddess of Doctors and Herbal Medicine. One of the goddess Haethanine’s first children, She was born from plants of a natural healing property. She beheld the ailments that befell the world and imbued several plants with medicinal properties. With Cerehosis’s assistance, she granted people the knowledge of medicine and it’s creation. She is generally portrayed as a young woman with a slender frame and dressed in flowing white robes or robes similar to uniforms of healers.
Ifaetari- Goddess of Sand and the Desert. She is worshipped greatly by those of desert travelers, the Sahari elves, and other civilizations in the middle eastern area of Asnorit. She is said to have created the many oases that dot the deserts. Much like her sister, sister Haethanine, if angered her rage will cause crops not to grow and vicious sandstorms to kick up. She is married to Stratokus and gave birth to the gods of winds and storms. She is generally portrayed as a slender, tan skinned woman with pale sand colored hair, dressed in a white linen dress. Her symbol is a pair of dunes with dots above them as swirling scattered sands. Her corresponding animals are the eaglet, the coyote, and the horse.
Shoranak- God of Thunder and Lightning. Son of Ifaetari and Stratokus, he brings thunder and lightning during storms. He works along side his sister Donotha to bring about storms both fearsome and mild. He is generally portrayed as a muscular young man with bright yellow hair and dressed in a bluish grey tunic. With their alluring form, some men will jump on the alraune without thinking and end up having their semen drained from their bodies until their exhausted. Sometimes if a man just comes close, the alraune will release vines that bring them to them to begin their feeding. Their saliva and sexual juices are referred to as their nectar that is a powerful aphrodisiac. Deep kisses from the Alraune lead to them force feeding it to their victims to keep them aroused until they collapse. While they tend to feed on semen, they have been known to be a bit carnivorous, eating small rodents or birds drawn to them. Sometimes a very hungry alraune will not simply devour a man’s sperm but the entire man.

They possess a red demon look with dark brown horns, clawed feet, pointed ears, and a nest of serpents coming from their chins.
Balgura- Often referred to as the “Devil Ape”, the Balgura looks similar to the earthly planes’ Gorilla, with an ape-like physique covered in red orange fur on top of brownish skin. Savage and primitive, these demonic apes possess great strength and can be a danger as they will eat their kill.
Camandans- These demons where once mortals consumed by infernal influence. Much like angels can be corrupted by raw infernal energy, so can mortals of the earthly plane. Camandans can arise through various methods; sometimes overuse of infernal magic, a deal with a demon for great power, or devout worship of a demon god, like Crotakas or Rylphon. Any of these scenarios, they become transformed into full-fledged demons. Their appearances and abilities vary depending on the scenario and what races but most are considered lesser demons and will simply try to enter the demon realm. Camandans can also come about when due to long-term exposure to the infernal realm.
Cestoria- Cestoria demons are parasitic demons that make homes in other creatures or even objects and infuse them with demonic energy. In appearance they have the form of a winged serpent with four, clawed, chitinous legs. In contrast to their small fragile bodies, Cestoria possess a great deal of demonic energy within them but cannot access it making them vulnerable in the demon world. The only way they can access their demon powers is bond with a host, either by burrowing into an organism’s flesh or encasing themselves in an egg-like shell to be swallowed. There are some cestoria demons who hail from the Abyss that take on a spectral form to bond symbiotically to an organism or object.
Crotasions- The closest children of Crotakas, these magically gifted demons are among to most powerful demonic spell casters. Their physical appearance is much like Crotakas with pale skin and an oddly shaped cranial cap. They are powerful demons that can use magic without a channeling tool and attack with powerful telepathic/psionic blasts. They share some similarities to the illithids of Graan-Mal-Gal. Most are very intelligent and brilliant schemers who will use their psionic abilities to enslave minds or leave opponents as mindless vegetables.
Dark Priests/Priestesses- Succubus and Incubus who have become devoted worshippers of some demon god whether it’s Veroxa, Crotakas, Balankor, Nakurta, or another. They maintain their very succubus nature feeding on life force but they have other priorities too. Their other duty is to their deity, zealously spreading the word of their demonic divinities to others. They will enter temples or other places of worship, taking on the form of an alluring priest or priestess who seduces and corrupts the church into their god’s teachings.
Decay Demon- A unique and terrifying creature from the demon realm that makes other demons run. It is unknown how the decay demons came into being; some say they evolved from a race of scavengers who became very retroactive or they were the spawn of succubus and demon necromancers.  The decay demons possess a powerful mystical ability to cause accelerated decay and atrophy. With a touch, they can cause metal to rust, stone to weaken, wood to degrade, and livings to age and decay. It is said that decay demons are only capable of digesting foods only when they have had a particular amount of decay.
Degouramonds- Like odd demonic personifications of gluttony and fat, Degouramonds are creatures who are almost always hungry. It is believed that these demons are the spawn of Hallum, the Demon God of Hunger, as they possess a similar appearance with a large fat body with two extra mouths in the palms of the hands. Degouramonds are interestingly omnivorous, able to almost anything from the most putrid of rotting flesh to the most poisonous of plants. However, they have a strong preference for living flesh, especially the newborns of various races and species. Their strong constitution and bizarre diet has it’s advantages; Their bodies take toxins and harmful agents from their meals to a specialize organ, mixes them into an acidic poison compound, and violently regurgitate the compound as a weapon.
Demon Insects/Swarm Beast- The demon realm is home to various species of incests and arachnids similar to those found on the earthly plane, but considerably more dangerous and terrifying. Apart from giant spiders and scorpions that prowl areas of that world, There also relatively average sized incests in the demon realm but with terrible characteristics. The hell wasp possesses a sting that can kill a man in twenty minutes, hellfire ants possess a chemical compound in them that allows them to spontaneously combust, but worst of all seems to demon flies and locusts, veracious eaters that devour not only crops but people as well. Though these creatures are a threat on their own if one is not prepared, when they work together it can be a massacre. Some of these demon incests can work to together to form what is called a Swarm Beast, a swarm of demonic incests taking the shape of a bipedal creature. As a swarm beast they can cause a great deal of destruction and tend to devour any person in their way. A sorcerer will sometimes use spells to control demon incests and often form them into a swarm beast under their control.
Desert Worms- Enormous beasts that reside in the deserts of the Demon Realm. Desert Worms are among the most feared creatures of those living the sandy areas of the demon realm. Larger than a gromak beetle and over a hundred feet long, they burrow through the sands waiting for their prey cross their paths. They possess a dense exoskeleton on their bodies to allow them to survive in the intense desert heat and is nearly impenetrable. They are sometimes referred to as ‘dust devils’ as  when they are close to the surface will kick up a dust cloud as they move. This is often seen as a warning, signaling a worm is about to strike. Few have managed to survive encounters with desert worms and most who do are considered very lucky. Some warrior demon clans who live near deserts will send certain warriors into the desert as a death sentence or as a rite of passage to either kill or tame the beasts.
Ether Hunters- Another experiment of Crotakas that propagated and have become recognized as a fearsome creature in the demon world. Legend tells of Crotakas magically experimented with the Scyllons and crafted this strange humanoid octopods. sometimes referred to as Scyllonkin, they possess an octopus like head with a fanged sucker mouth and tentacled fingers, also with a mouth in each palm. Though the appearance might make someone be rather frightened, it’s what they do with these mouths thats kind of terrifying. They have a heightened sense of smell that actually allows them to smell energy or ether. By hunting down a creature and capturing it, the Ether Hunters can devour and drain energy from a person or creature, mainly mana, life force, demonic energy, almost all of it. After draining their prey to nothing more than a husk, they will usually devour it and leave. Their intelligence is rather limited almost being like a simple minded dog who focuses only on their task.
Fallen-Angels cast out from Elasvaine and became fearsome demons or their twisted descendants. The original Fallen were loyal servants of Alphaenon who were cast out and banished to the demon realm. These angels became corrupted by the demonic contaminants within the plane from the food, the water, and even the very air. Many of the fallen that exist today are the descendants of the original fallen. They possess an appearance similar to their angelic ancestry with a twisted angelic body. They possess a grayish complexion to their humanoid body with pronounced black veins, sharp claws, one or two sets of black mangy avian wings, and sometimes possess a pair of black horns on their heads.

Furies tend to hold a grudge in the worst possible way, if crossed they will stop at nothing until the offender has suffered or been killed. They are loyal to their patriarch and some have even gone so far as to become his lovers. In appearance they seem to be a mix of pit fiends and succubus; possessing an alluring feminine form but with demonic features such as bat like wings, claws, horns, and scaly skin. They are prominently known to wear red war paint made from blood over their eyes and on other body parts.
Galheki Scavengers- Like Hell hounds, these quadrupedal beasts scavenge for meals in the demon realm, particularly in plains and forests. They possess an appetite equal to their gargantuan size, feeding on both plant and animals they can get their mandibles on.  Within the right environment they can be as docile as lambs or as ferocious as a dragon. Some races have started to train the Gromak Beetles into steeds or beasts of burden but they must be fed and tended to or they will more than likely devour you.
Hell Hounds/Laelaps-Carnivorous beasts of hell who will hunt down their prey almost relentlessly. The hellhounds possess a shape similar to a large wild dog but is rather different in certain details. Their bodies are coated in a layer of durable scales, a set of spines on their backs, and a muzzle that splits open for a stronger bite. Some grow larger and most pack leaders are capable of growing multiple heads. When untamed, they roam in packs all over demon world hunting for their food with their heightened senses and incredibly agility. Depending upon their territory and situation, Hell Hounds have also shown to be opportunistic and will sometimes act as scavengers. When summoned and tamed, they can prove to be excellent watchdogs as they are very territorial. Some sorcerers will augment them with magic to make them look like normal dogs in the earthly plane so they don’t attract attention.
Imps- Little devils that are more annoyance than threat. Imps are minor demons that on their own possess no actually problem to a traveler. They possess a form similar to a gremlin only growing to be about a foot or two in height with two wings. They are devious trouble makers, having a taste for frustrating people like taking parts from devices and tearing pages from books. They will eat almost anything from garbage to people. The latter however only happens when imps are in groups of about 100.
Insect Lord- Sometimes when you encounter a demonic insect swarm, an insect lord may be near. An insect lord is a larger version of a demonic insect with a more humanoid shape. These insectoid or arachnid-like demons possess the ability to control their smaller cousins by establishing mental dominance over them, some are even capable of controlling insects from the earthly plane and corrupting them with demon magic. Though they vary in species, most insect lords tend to be of an insect of a hive society or found common in swarms like bees, ants, locusts, or flies. While insect lords prefer to use their swarm to attack, they do possess physical traits to fall back on like a fly lord possess their flight and acidic saliva. Though mainly working for themselves, they can be summoned by sorcerers and bent to their will.
Karnivas Birds- Large, monstrous birds who inhabit the demon realm, Karnivas birds are opportunistic hunters and scavengers. Legionnaires- Though demon warriors are somewhat common in the demon world, the Legionnaire Demons are the best warriors. From the day they are born, Legionnaire demons are trained to be warriors; it’s not simply a hobby or job, it’s way of life for them. They are trained in nearly every art of combat like weapons mastery and hand-to-hand combat. They fight for various reasons; honor, dominance, money, sex, and entertainment. While common legionnaires are trained in the basics of combat and war, Legionnaire Chieftains are also taught battle strategy and leadership so they will become powerful warriors and leaders. They are generally red or beige colored demons with black horns and a reptilian tail and wear dark grey armor.
Lesser Demons- One of the most common of demons races in the Infernal realm. They are considered to be the first children of the demon world but they don’t possess much that makes them stand out. Apart from a mix and match of pointed eyes, horns, fangs, and tails, they don’t possess any outstanding abilities. They have a knack for magic and will try to master some spells and styles make themselves stronger. Often times they will worship a specific demon god in the hopes of receiving blessings to become stronger and more powerful. Some skilled in mystical arts will augment their abilities or look for areas of strong mystical significance and gain power that way. They are perhaps one of the easiest demons to summon by Infernal Sorcerers as they don’t require too power to summon and are still stronger and faster than a normal human.
Mariliths- The Mariliths are a race of female demons born from the demon god Rylphon. In appearance they look similar to a naga with six arms, pointed ears and red eyes. They possess great skill with swords and their multiple sets of arms means they can carve up opponents with amazing ease. They also contain poison in their fangs that make enemies bodies go limp. Though born from Rylphon some say they seem better related to Mordas, considering that they are skilled and savage warriors.
Oculirans- These peculiar demons are almost always compared to Beholders, as they possess multiple eyes all over their upper body. Some legends say they were lesser demons who sought power from Crotakas, who granted them unique magical augmentations. Their eyes of course offer them a great defensive ability as they can see in almost any direction where an opponent could attack, giving them almost no blind spot, save for if they wear armor or clothing over their limbs and upper body. These eyes also offer a unique offense as well as nearly each eye produces a beam with a magical effect for example, the eyes on the palms produce a heat ray while the eyes on the back produces an ice beam.
Pit Fiends- Winged demons that are ambitious conquers. Sometimes referred to as the first children of Mordas, Pit Fiends possess many similar traits to their god and divine father with red skin, horns, spines along their back and tail, and pair of bat-like wings. Though sometimes called the Nobles of the Demon Realm, They are more like barbarian kings than elegant noblemen, possessing a savagery and malicious behavior coupled with a cunning mind, keen on battle strategy. They rule small kingdoms throughout the demon world and if they are not, they control a small army of brigands and attack towns.
Plague Feeders- Used as both beasts of burden and riding mounts, the plague feeders are slug-centipede hybrids and some are ranging from the size of a normal horse to an elephant. Some may say that these feeders are the end result of Torture Fiend or a Plaguemiron that has failed her duty pleasing Bilesla, while others say that it was the end result of one of Bilesla’s experiments gone horribly right. Whatever the cause these creatures tend to feed off the nutrients of their victims, adding it to their own biomass.
Plaguemirons- Bloated monstrosities of demon women, these creatures are larger, more vicious than their slimmer brethren. These cruel creatures are partly slug, just like the goddess they worship. The look like the brute force of Bilesla’s twisted army, but if their strength doesn’t intimidate the warrior, their musk will. To make matters worse, they can summon other demons to do their bidding, like the Plague Feeders and the rider for instance.
Scyllon- These demonic multipods inhabit the seas and swamps of the demon realm. Scyllons, or “Ravagers” as they’re sometimes called, possess the form of a large black or muted purplish brown octopus and range from being 6ft to 25ft long. Like octopi, their bodies are mainly made of muscle but their tentacles are extremely elastic and capable of reaching prey about 45 ft away from them. They are oddly curious creatures and will explore creatures before eating them. This some times leads to a woman potentially getting molested or raped by these creatures before they consider devouring them.
Shade Fiends- These demons are a race that has devoted their lives to the arts of assassination and espionage. In appearance, they have blue scaly skin, small horns on their heads, and a thin tail. They are generally dressed in black. Some believe that the shade fiends may have been the inspiration for some shadow magic spells. They possess many natural abilities similar to most know shadow spells such as bonding and teleporting through shadows and killing targets by stabbing them through their shadow. Shade Fiends are also capable of crawling on walls and also can teleport in a cloud or puff of blackened smoke.
Sirens- Cousins to the succubus and incubus, Sirens are alluring demons who lure sea-faring souls to their doom. Unlike their cousins, the sirens are an all-female race and tend to reproduce asexually. Possessing some shapeshifting abilities, they tend to take the form of beautiful women or sometimes mermaids and lure sea farers to them with their haunting melodies. When they have their prey in their traps, they reveal their true forms of a humanoid fish like appearance and devour them. They also possess an ability to produce an electrical burst that stuns their prey for good measure. They tend to reside on small islands in the ocean or seas but sometimes reside on the land being summoned by sorcerers to do their bidding.
Succubus/Incubus- Shapeshifting demons from the infernal realm who travel the planet for life force. In appearance, Succubus have the form of an attractive woman with reptilian pupils and two sets of bat-like wings. Incubus, the male of the species, has similar traits but has the appearance of an attractive man. These demons take the form of a person’s ideal lover, seduce them, and drain their life force through intercourse. Some more powerful ones can drain it with a simple kiss. However, they will also influence and tempt mortals into doing terrible things. While a capable enough demon race to open their own portals to the earthly plane, Succubi and Incubi are often called to the plane by sorcerers who recruit them as spies, assassins, and of course concubines.
Tengu- A unique race of demons that unlike those who only seek to destroy and corrupt, the Tengu uphold honor and a warrior way. The tengu mainly possess a humanoid body with features similar to a crow like a beak, a pair of avian wings, and bird-like claws for feet. Some say that the tengu were created by Crotakas, attempting to create a race of warriors who would follow him should Mordas attempt to conquer his domain. However this race was so different from other demons and were  persecuted by them. Through use of magic most of them fled to the earthly plane particularly in Nikona. In Nikona, they taught different forms of fighting styles to the humans and gave many of them a code of honor known as bushido. Many of their abilities are the basis of samurai swordsmanship and jutsu. While most are honorable and keep to themselves, Some tengu are more deceitful and ruthless being closer to the demon warriors that Crotakas intended. Most live in the mountainous regions of Nikona.
Thri-Kreen- Giant human sized insects who serve the goddess Obelnique. The thri-kreen possess a sandy yellow exoskeleton standing bipedal on two segmented legs and two sets of arms with four fingered hands. Though in some cases simple, they are intelligent enough to hunt in packs, speak, sometimes wear clothes, and wield primitive weapons. They possess a venomous bite that paralyzes their prey long enough for them to feed. They are fiercely loyal to the demon insect Goddess, Obelnique and are often times her soldiers. While they can live in other areas, they generally reside in Qualog, the home of their goddess. Though loyal to Obelnique, they can serve as soldiers to sorcerers or thri-kreen insect lords.
Torture Fiends- Twisted female demos that serve Bilesla, these creatures feed off torture and sadism. On the plus side, sometimes being toyed with by these Torture Fiends are one of the nicer ways to go. They do these sadistic tasks as an odd expression of love and worship for their goddess. The only reason Veroxa even tolerates these parodies of succubi was that there’s a fetish for torture. In appearance, these demonic damsels have ghost white skin, fly black hair, taloned claws and feet, antennae, insect wings allowing them to fly, and nearly slender bodies save for paunches hanging over their waists. They are often dressed in outfits similar to S&M gear, particularly masks to symbolize their allegiance.
Djinns- Mischievous cruel elemental spirits with phenomenal powers. Djinns or “Genies” are fairly well-known in myth and story but there is a bit more to them. While they are shapeshifting elemental creatures, They have a base humanoid form with multicolored skin shades and pointed ears while other aspects of them are often different like two sets of arms, eyes on their abdomen, and other things. These elemental entities hail from another plane of existence, traveling to the earthly realm for a bit of sport. They are generally mischievous and rather cruel beings that view mortal beings as playthings, manipulating them and destroying them on a whim. Like other powerful entities, the Djinn possess great, cosmic magical powers to manipulate reality itself to suit them and to screw with other people. After incidents on the earthly plane, the gods and their psions either banished them from Asnorit or bound them to objects like oil lamps, mirrors, rings and other objects. As they are bound to these objects, should someone find one of these particular objects they are obligated to grant them wishes. However, unless you have a nice djinn, they will more than likely screw with a person and grant wishes in ways that they see fit.
Draconians- This small race of humanoid dragons are believed to be cousins of the great dragons as they possess similar likeness to the enormous reptiles. Draconians possess the magical abilities of the great dragons and will sometimes have the same temperaments. They are reclusive and nomadic races that will sometimes serve dragons or at times act as mercenaries. However in recent times there has been the introduction of False Draconians. Unlike true draconians who are born naturally, False Draconians are people augmented into a dragon-like form or humanoid chimeras created through an alchemic solution.
Draegoliths- Draegoliths are one of the two monstrosities that are often created from dark elf sorcerers who worship Gorathone. They have the appearance of a large, hairy, muscular, ape-like version of a dark elf with razor sharp teeth and claws. These are often forms taken by Dark Elves for offensive strength, calling upon Gorathone to give them the power to smite their enemies. When possessed of this power, the transformed generally become berserk and savage for a period of time before it subsides but if the right precautions aren’t taken, a dark elf can remain a draegolith and become like a wild animal. Feral Draegoliths tend to feed upon live stock and people from time to time.
Drakespawn- Horrific aberrations forged from living creatures and dark spells, Drakespawn are often considered most to be the epitome of nightmarish chimeras. In ancient times of war, dark mages crafted these monsters for warlords to be living weapons. They took the eggs of dragons and draconians and exposed them to various forms of magic. The creatures that hatched were unlike anything seen on Asnorit, misshapen reflections of the dragons they could have been. Occasionally these creatures have actually been able to mate and spawn others like them but mainly drakespawn only really occur through magic enchantment and alchemic experimentation.
Driders- Driders are one of the two monstrosities that are often created from dark elf sorcerers who worship Gorathone. They possess the upper body of a dark elf and the legs and bottom of a spider. These creatures are actually the form taken at times by high priests and priestesses of the Dark God himself. They are viewed often as the ultimate ascension of a dark elf, being fully embraced by Gorathone’s glory. To take this form, a potential high priest or priestess must go through a ritual invoked by a senior priest that involves a magic circle, the potential high priest’s blood, and a Death Weaver Spider. The potential priest is wrapped in a cocoon of death weaver’s silk and the cocoon is charged by mana invoking Gorathone. After a short period, the priest emerges from the cocoon. This ritual either ends up with the priest maintaining their sentience and accepting their new responsibilities or they become feral and bloodthirsty. The latter being set free to wreak havoc, captured, or simply killed on the spot. Some elves will take on drider forms without such a flashy ritual, sometimes taking on the form permanently or temporarily for battle. Driders will often master shapeshifting so they can lure prey to them without causing alarm.
Elementals-Creatures born of the elements, there are theories to how these elementals are born. Some were crafted by the gods as their servants to shape the land, while other were the end result of perverse, desperate wizards who love nature more than life itself. Whatever the cause, these elementals roam the land seeking to change the world in a natural cause by going wherever they please. Some wizard have the ability to call an elemental to aid them (or give a good fuck if they are really perverse.) and have the basic elements strapped to them. There are dozens of elementals, but all are pretty neutral about trespassers, and some may say that they can learn elemental magic from them.
Fauxagons-The end result of a sorcerer taking the elixir of a fake Dragon's Blood Ruby, A Fauxagon is part human, part dragon, all insane; When the fake elixir was drunk, all traces of humanity was purged from the system, creating a feral instinct. They are also cunning creatures, relying on their former intellect to survive on whatever they can catch. There are two ways to create a Fauxagon; One is drinking one of the many fake Dragon Blood Ruby Elixirs around the world, and another way is a Fauxagon to have intercourse with another Fauxagon, the latter part is exceptionally rare to common. So far, none save for the real Dragon's Blood Ruby elixir can cure a Fauxagon of his/her curse, so these creatures will do anything to get their mitts on the real thing. Sometimes they tend to serve Dragons, although the Dragon in question can treat them as minions, or slaves.
Gargoyles- Hideous flying predators with stone skin. Gargoyles are believed to have evolved from either early demons who took residence in our world or creatures descended from early golems. Either way they aren’t very friendly. Gargoyles generally have the appearance of a winged, horned demon or some other hideous form. They possess hard stone skin which allows them to blend in with statuary on different buildings and makes them difficult to kill. Taking these roosts in search of prey like birds and rats or to torment unsuspecting passersby. Their habitats tend to be either mountains or large stone structures.
Girtablilu- A monstrous threat should you find yourself in the desert, the Girtablilu are a race of scorpion-humanoid creatures that are fiercely territorial. They are sometimes referred to as the Driders of the Deserts as they possess a similar appearance except with a scorpion body in place of a spider body. Legend says that this monster species started as a group of sahari elves who were under siege by marauders. In desperation, the Sahari Elves called upon Gorathone to grant them the might to protect their lands and people. Gorathone did as they asked, granting them the body of a scorpion. This form did indeed drive out the invaders but this dark gift came with a price. Gorathone stripped them of their intelligence, leaving behind instinctive desires to protect their land and people along with worshipping their new dark god. Traits that are unique to the Girtablilu rather than the Drider apart from the different species of arachnid is their mouths. Girtablilu possess scorpion mandibles where their mouths should be.
Golems- Not so much actual creatures but constructs of creation magic, Golems have no will of their own. Crafted through either a special crafting of clay, wood, metal, or stone with a mix of mana or imbuing a statue with an artificial soul, Golems can come in many different shapes, sizes, and materials. Most are generally used as simple assistants to sorcerers or servants to other people. Sometimes however, Golems are imbued with directions as guardians and bodyguards, defending whomever or whatever they are told to and defeat anyone who attempts to come between them and their duty. Here are a few special Golems of noteworthiness:
Corpse/Flesh Golems-One of the most twisted forms of golems, flesh golems are considered the unholy union of Creation Magic and Necromancy.  These creatures are crafted from various body parts, generally from corpses, and combined to form a misshapen creature meant to do the bidding of its creator. Some clever casters can utilize the traits of the pieces from the ‘donors’ such as a flesh golem created using parts from goblins and orcs well be more durable and stronger than a golem using parts from a human. These golems can be very hard to kill or defeat. However, the best options are probably fire or dismemberment.
Mandragora- A rather different kind of golem, Mandragora is a golem crafted using a demon soul or parasitic demon in place of an artificial soul. In appearance, a mandragora generally has a small doll-like body made of wood, plant matter, or cloth and other materials. After summoning a demonic spirit or a parasitic demon, the spirit/creature enters the mandragora and bonds with it. Mandragora are mainly used as familiars, assisting in spells and imbuing more power to a sorcerer’s own. Some madragoras will use their demonic energy to change their form, like enlarging their bodies or some other limited shapeshifting. The best way of dealing with a mandragora is to remove the soul or parasitic demon infesting the doll.
Gorgons- Dangerous humanoids possessing snakes in place of hair and a mystical gaze that can turn enemies to stone. They are an all-female race possessing a human body save for a swarm of snakes replacing their hair. Gorgons are of course famous for their ability to turn people to stone with a gaze of their eyes. While generally cruel and cunning, Gorgons are not always the same and having different temperaments. They are mostly located on islands in the Midgandrian Sea between Ranell, Saunram, and Gaula.
Harpies- Fearsome flying fiends, Harpies are a sub race of humanoid beings with bird-like and bat-like features. While possessing a humanoid physique, harpies also possess long pointed ears, slitted golden eyes, large bird like feet, and a pair of bat like wings. They possess an enthralling voice that places people into a trance for them to feed upon unwitting travelers. On the reverse, their voice can be turned into a sonic scream that can cause pain to anyone in range, even making one deaf or killing the most acute listeners. Once speculated to be an all female species, there are in fact male harpies just simply a fewer of them than females. They tend to live in caves mainly along the coastline or in mountains.
Homunculus- Homunculus are artificial beings created through creation magic or bio-alchemy. Created from samples of flesh, blood, and other materials, these creatures mimic natural life but in a strange and unnatural manner. In both methods of creation, samples are needed to create the desired creature. In Creation Magic, a sorcerer crafts an artificial soul, implants it into the completed form, and uses them for many different purposes. In Bio-Alchemy, these creatures are actually artificially born, placing the samples in a specialized incubation chamber and then growing from a fetus to different points of maturity. They are created for many different reasons. Some create these beings with good intentions like artificial child while others intentions focus using them as soldiers, watchdogs or assistants. Their intelligence varies depending on how the sorcerer and alchemist decide to educated them. When killed, a homunculus will generally dissolve into a puddle of ooze. The known forms of Homunculus are:
Chimeras- These homunculus are artificially hybridized animals that are created through magic or alchemy. A chimera refers to any hybridized animal created by these methods like a three headed dog or a bird with insect wings. Apart from the more well known methods of Chimera creation, an alternate route taken by some alchemists is a potion that when injected into another organism that will transform or ‘mutate’ them into a chimera. Some alchemists have created hybrids of humans and animals with this method.
Doppelgangers/Clones- These homunculus are generally the most complex of creations through either method of Magic or Alchemy. These Doppelgangers or ‘clones’ as alchemists call them are almost perfect replications of people. When created through either alchemy or magic, one requires samples of the original person to create them. After their body is formed and a soul is implanted, a very crafty sorcerer can implant the doppelganger with memories of the chosen person to form a perfect duplicate in both mind and body. Some warlocks have created these doppelgangers to act as scapegoats and allude capture by the local law enforcement.
Prometheans- These creatures are the more common idea of homunculus; artificial crafted people produced through magical or alchemic means. While these homunculus are meant to be ordinary people sometimes anomalies pop up where they find themselves possesses augmented traits such as enhanced strength, durability, and other unique abilities. Sometimes these traits are actually induced by the creator to make super soldiers and living weapons.
Illithids- This fairly intelligent race of beings hail from the realm of Graan-Mal-Gal. They appear to have a human body with a head akin to an octopus. Illithids are gifted with great psychic powers that grant them the ability to speak through telepathy and produce large blasts of psychic energy to shatter a person’s mind. Once doing so to a victim they will either eat the victim’s brain or psychically enslave them. While most are schemers and masterminds, some are also assassins and spies at different times. Those who are not as familiar with these creatures often refer to them by their popular name; Mind Flayers.
Mimics- These shape-shifting creatures are capable of taking the forms of people, creatures, and objects. The smallest of Mimic’s truest form is a greyish quadrupedal form like a deformed, hairless dog. These creatures tend to take the form of an object mainly treasure chests and reside in castles or dungeons, trapping greedy adventurers and explorers. The larger of the mimics tend to take on the forms of people. Their true form is similar to their smaller cousins with grey skin and large black eyes but with a thin humanoid body. This mimics can take on a more extensive variety of shapes, even creatures larger than themselves but they tend to stick to humanoid beings like humans, elves, and so on.
Minotaurs/Holstaurus- This sub race is an odd hybrid of human and bovine and live in plains and grasslands in Amsterly as well as Gaula and islands of the Midgandrian Sea. The Minotaur, the male of the race, is a large creature that stands at about 7-10 ft. tall and possesses the upper torso of a human male with the head and hindquarters of a bull. They are very territorial and aggressive, coupled with immense strength makes them a creature one doesn’t want to cross. While a bit violent, they can be amiable if approached in the right manner. The female of this species, the Holstaurus is a smaller being about 5-7 ft in height, being rather gentle and affectionate. They possess the head and upper body of a human woman with the ears and hind legs of a cow. They possess large breasts which produce a delicious and nutritious milk, making them a creature that people in certain areas will have as cattle. These creatures also have a high libido and will often mate not simply with their own race but other humanoid races. Minotaurs tend to be rather aggressive when they discover a female they like, they will often times capture her, taker her to their territory, and frequently have sex with her, whether she’s willing or not. Holstaurus on the other hand when they discover a man they fancy, they will give an interesting sign of affection by pressing their huge breasts against a man’s chest and if the male responds properly, they will have sex.
Nagas- These viperous villainesses are believed to be cousins of the gorgons in some strange way. However while gorgons possess a humanoid body with a nest serpents for hair, Nagas possess a fully human upper torso with a large serpentine tail from the waist down. While they don’t possess the gorgon’s mystical glare, Nagas are not to be underestimated as they possess lighting fast reflexes along with a venomous bite and spit. They are mostly found in the desert areas of Asnorit like Saunram.
Nymphs- Strange alluring creatures that can be troublesome and perhaps dangerous. These beings possess a human or elvish physique and are believed to be all female. In some legends, these creatures were said to have originally been members of the fair folk but became so in tuned with nature, they changed and became alluring spirits and embodiments of nature. They appear in forests and rivers. Sometimes they can be harmless, they have been known to lure men to their doom by their beauty like drawing men into deep waters and drowning them.
Salaktids- These small extra-planar creatures are parasites. They are about the size of a human hand possessing five spiny tentacles and a large strange looking eye at the center of their body with a small fanged suction-cup mouth on the underside of it. After finding a suitable host, a salaktid will bond with it by latching on to the body or entering through an orifice. Much like an ordinary parasite, the salaktid will feed upon nutrients into the body until the host dies or it is removed. The latter is much more difficult than it sounds as salaktids are rather clever and use different means to ward off attempts to be removed. As a last resort, a salaktid can inject a toxin to the bloodstream that causes a violent sensory overload leading to the brain burning out and it’s host dying. Crafty and cruel sorcerers have managed to discover a way of taming salaktids and using them as spy devices which they implant into their men or enemies.
Slimes- One of the more peculiar beings in Asnorit, Slimes are strange primitive creatures with blob-like bodies made of a gelatinous substance. They can be found roaming the plains of Asnorit or sewers in major cities. They can grow in size by their bodies absorbing water or other liquids. They can eat by absorbing prey in their bodies and secreting an acidic substance to dissolve and digest their prey. Slimes can also multiply by being cut in half or grow too large, shedding the extra amount of slime. Though simple, they possess some intelligence and can act as a companion. Some sorcerers have experimented with Slimes and augmented them in certain ways to suit their goals like charging them with infernal energy to make them more aggressive or more commonly converting them into humanoid form as slime golems.
Trolls- Trolls are large, lumbering slow-witted creatures that stand up over 11 feet tall. They have no fear of death and a highly accelerated regenerative ability to regrow body parts lost in battle. As said they are slow-witted, often easily distracted by shiny objects or meat. They possess an aversion to acid and fire and cannot regenerate a limb harmed by either method.
Undead- These beings border on the edge of life and death. The Undead vary greatly, some manifesting as spirits of vengeance who will not rest until their revenge is fulfilled and some are simple minded constructs of a necromancer and used to create minions.
Banshees- A female phantasm possessing an otherworldly shriek. Banshee are special spirits who were once women. They wander through familiar places aimlessly. If someone bothers them or comes into their territory, they will retaliate with a loud painful cry that is said to kill if heard long enough. It is believed that banshee may have been the restless spirits of women who murdered but where never avenged or their beloveds perished and they pined away until their death, so caught up in grief that they couldn’t pass on.
Dullahan- Headless phantoms returning from Hell to terrorize and kill the living. In live, Dullahan were once skilled generals and warlords who were known for their great military prowess and unrivaled brutality. After being killed in battle, their spirits were sent to the Abyss to be tortured for their crimes against others. Nakurta, perhaps out of amusement or to gain more souls, grants these spirits the chance to return to the mortal realm and spread terror once again. With acceptance they are given enough energy to take on physical forms and powers but stripped of any shred of humanity to the point where all that is left is a basic vicious instinct to kill all in their territory. They function oddly enough as soul reapers for Nakurta. With every person they kill, they take the soul and send it Nakurta. Their forms can be rather varied but all share common traits of a headless being riding on the back of a large steed. Sometimes they look like demonic knights on hellish horses, riders in black stallions, or sometimes even zombies on equine skeletons.
Ghosts- This being almost needs no introduction or explanation but I will give one anyways. Ghosts are spirits who reside in or ‘haunt’ the world of living. Through one reason or another, these restless spirits managed remain in the world, long after their mortal life has ended. Their souls taking either the appearance they had in life or perhaps a simpler and stranger appearance. Their temperaments can vary widely from being benign specters that haunt familiar locations or hateful angry apparitions who haunt and kill those who enter their home.
Lichs- These undead spell casters are the most dangerous of undead monsters. In life, they were great wizards but sought to gain more power and defy death. Through a certain ritual, they transform themselves into a skeletal being that loses their former identity and focuses itself on plots to amass power and knowledge. They are nearly indestructible and can only be killed if the phylactery, the item which houses their soul, is destroyed. This form is sometimes viewed as one of the pinnacle achievements of necromancy.
Mummies-Former Sarahari Elves, these were the end result of an old tradition that honored the dead through a sect known as the Tomb Protectors, wrapping the dead in bandages. However, something in those balms created a reaction, causing said bodies to 'reanimate' somehow. These mummies come in a variety of types; Some that were common folk, others were mighty guards and kings. The more noble you are, the more abilities and powers a mummy has, as Sechavis found out. A Mummy King is the most dangerous, as Sechavis lead his mummies to take over the tomb of his royal family, and built a kingdom there.
Revenants- As seen with ghosts, some souls will not follow Caehadi’s guidance into the next world. Revenants are extremely powerful spirits that are not willing to die yet and return to the mortal realm for one reason or another. They have been known to return to their former vessel and attempt what to do what they wish. Some people consider this full blown resurrection but the body does not become fully restored, in fact it continues to decay and worsen with the soul inside. Revenants as such are rare as few people have the drive and will power to go against Caehadi and return to their bodies. A unique variant of revenants have appeared recently through necromancy. This kind of revenant is created by imbuing a corpse with a demon soul and empowering it with infernal energy to maintain stability, reducing degeneration of the body.
Vampires- Immortal and nearly-indestructible, these undead creatures prowl at night and feed on the blood of the living. Vampires generally possess the form they had in their mortal before being turned but with a slight paling of the skin, long canine teeth, and red irises. They also possess enhanced strength, agility, senses and flight. As they are immortal and can live for thousands of years, they live lives of decadence and luxury to pass the time. They are highly intelligent and cunning. Their hunting habits vary from luring prey to their homes and feasting on them when they least expect it or stalking prey and gorging on themselves on blood. Vampires are often very skilled magic users, practicing necromancy and summoning while also having a natural ability for shapeshifting and enchantment magic. Some vampires are said to be what is called purebloods, creatures who have been born through conception between two vampires and possess even greater powers than turned vampires but it’s not clear. While they are immortal, they have weaknesses that can be used to defeat or destroy them. They cannot survive in sunlight, they have a violent allergy to garlic and silver, and they can killed by a sharp strike to the heart or head.
Wights-Unlike Lichs, who were undead Wizards, these Wights are undead Elite Warriors; throwing away spells in favor of physical combat. While the concept is based on a Lich, the Wights instead focus on amassing power and great physical strength. Some are serving various undead lords while others were brutal knights. The leaders of these Wights are deadly warrior kings, and proven quite vicious in combat. Like their Lich cousins, destroying their phylactery will kill them. These objects are usually found on a Wight's person, or the one controlling them, to make sure said wight is obedient to the holder. Of course, getting to said objects are easier said than done!
Wraiths- Powerful Spirits of Vengeance who wander and seek to kill those who wronged them. In life these spirits were men and women who were wronged and never got over this, mostly being betrayed or murdered. Possessing a great force of will most wraiths manage to take on a spectral form, tap into some mana to give them power and hunt down their targets.
Zombies- Decaying corpses that manage to walk about long after death. Zombies are mainly the effect of necromancy, dead bodies risen once more to walk on the earthly plane. They are summoned and crafted by necromancers as slaves and simple soldiers. Being dead already, Zombies will continue move even if limbs are removed or important organs are penetrated. The best defenses are either to burn them, damage the head, or freeze them and shattered them to bits. They often have a desire for living flesh and will devour any living thing they can get their hands on. A popular misconception is that if a zombie bites a living being, they will become a zombie. This is in fact not true unless the necromancer who created the zombie(s) placed a special spell that makes them infectious. Zombies are also not resurrected people but simply dead bodies manipulated through necromancy either controlled like puppets through an extension of a necromancer’s mana or imbued with a simplistic artificial soul. Some necromancers have started to imbue zombies with beast souls, giving them faster reflexes and a savage demeanor.
Werewolves- Shape-changing beings who can shift from man to beast during the full moon. Werewolves are generally people who have been blessed or cursed with the ability of lycanthropy. They are created either through a bite of another werewolf or being born to a family of werewolves. They generally possess the ability to take on three forms; Their human form, their wolf form, and a hybrid combining traits of both previous forms. While werewolves are known for transforming at the full moon, Older Werewolves and naturally born werewolves can transform at will. They are not always the same and have different personalities. Some are peace loving gurus, others are savage brigands, and others still are more tortured and reclusive. It is also known that they have a weakness for silver and wolf’s bane. It is sometimes believed that if a werewolf fully gives into their beastly side, they will remain in that form forever regardless of the phases of the moon.
Yuan-Ti- A sinister species of serpentine schemers. The Yuan-Ti are a race of half-human, half-snake people who are generally rather secretive, cunning, and often times evil. They possess considerable intelligence and will use it to further their plots whether organizing a scouting party, creating elaborate traps, or building alliances with others. They often live either in forested areas or sometimes under cities. The yuan-ti have different versions of their race; Purebloods possess a human appearance but with minor features like scaly patches of skin or a forked tongue, Half-breeds possess more prominent snake-like features, and finally the abominations look like a large serpent with a pair of muscular arms. All of them possess quick reflexes, poisonous fangs, and capable of transforming into ordinary snakes.
