Salaktids- These small extra-planar creatures are parasites. They are about the size of a human hand possessing five spiny tentacles and a large strange looking eye at the center of their body with a small fanged suction-cup mouth on the underside of it. After finding a suitable host, a salaktid will bond with it by latching on to the body or entering through an orifice. Much like an ordinary parasite, the salaktid will feed upon nutrients into the body until the host dies or it is removed. The latter is much more difficult than it sounds as salaktids are rather clever and use different means to ward off attempts to be removed. As a last resort, a salaktid can inject a toxin to the bloodstream that causes a violent sensory overload leading to the brain burning out and it’s host dying. Crafty and cruel sorcerers have managed to discover a way of taming salaktids and using them as spy devices which they implant into their men or enemies.
