Expanded Bestiary: Drakes

Another installment of the Expanded Bestiary with the first species of Dragons, the terrestrial Drakes. This page and pic will probably be updated later with one or two more Drakes added.

Drakes- The Drakes are another common terrestrial dragon species. Early civilizations have domesticated them and bred them in many different ways. Drakes tend to vary depending on their breeding and what they are used for but they all generally possess a stocky quadrupedal body similar in shape to a lion, which those in Gaula have been known to be fierce rivals of. Many well known breeds of drakes are the common drake, the siege drake, the pit drake, and the toy drake. As said, the Drakes have been bred by many different races all across Asnorit and can be found in almost every environment.

Common Drake- This drake can be found in various temperate to tropical areas of the world and are highly adaptable. They are defined by a wedge shaped head, a taupe or tan colored scales with faint brown stripes on their bodies and a pale underbelly.  These drakes stand roughly 5 ft at the shoulders and can grow up to about 12 ft. long.

Siege Drake- A great and mighty breed, the siege drakes were bred to assist in combat. Bred by ancient warlords and generals, these strong but fast drakes have been used as mounts in war or beasts of burden to move large heavy artillery. They are recognized by their dark brown scales and bony white spikes on their shoulders and hips.

Toy Drake- One of the most prominently domesticated drakes, the toy drake was bred specifically as a pet. Most wild instincts found in other breeds of drakes have been utterly removed this breed which is mainly used as a house pet like a dog or cat. These drakes grow to be about 3 1/2 ft in length with the tail and 2 ft in height.
